We’re still going strong over here at the farm – dismantling tunnel tomatoes and planting spinach, putting row cover and landscape fabric away for the season, trekking up to New Tripoli to plant over 100 pounds of garlic. The women who worked here this season were absolutely amazing, loving the\u00a0food and loving the work, and they’re still at it. Eventually, the work will slow. For now, it’s simply changing.<\/p>\n
We continue to host the\u00a0Collective Creamery<\/a>\u00a0cheese CSA every month – and their new platform allows for you to sign up for as often as you’d like to receive it (or to purchase it as a gift)! Check it out. It was one of our tastier decisions of 2022, and I can’t wait to jump into this next round.<\/p>\n Warm Sugar is still delivering sweet and savory treats to us, and she has also posted her\u00a0Thanksgiving Order Form<\/a>\u00a0for those looking to plan your fall desserts. Her pickup will be Wednesday, Nov. 23 from 2-4pm at the stand.<\/p>\n We also continue to host our dear friends\u00a0Gauker Farms<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Cellar Beast Winehouse<\/a>\u00a0for First Fridays (although in December we’ll probably tweak this for the holiday season), so keep an eye on our\u00a0Facebook Page Events<\/a>\u00a0to keep updated on their special appearances. For now, Cellar Beast will be setting up by noon on November 4th, and Gauker arrives by 3pm. You are welcome to order beef in advance for pick up, or just pop in to peruse her coolers. I suspect Cellar Beast may be with us again before Thanksgiving – but keep an eye on our Event page to be sure.<\/p>\n We’ve started some new projects that are giving us a greater sense of farming independence as we work on some seed saving and look to the future of what we can do in this space. We received a Value-Added Producer Grant at the end of September – a rigorous grant that Tom and I wrote for over the last two years – and it’s going to help us springboard into some new farm products over the next couple of seasons. We’ll keep you posted as this part of the farm starts to grow over the next couple of months.<\/p>\n Our shelves will be stocked through the season – with fresh dairy, ferments, grains, pasta, preserves, ginger and tomato products, new hot sauce, and a multitude of pantry items to round out our mountain of fresh roots and greens we are still pulling from the fields every few days. We’ve worked tirelessly to produce even more shelf-stable items for the upcoming holiday season. Spinach should be back in the next couple of weeks, and we’ve got the season’s fresh and crunchy apples.<\/p>\n And we plan to run the CSA again in the 2023 season. I’ve attached our updated 2023 CSA and Market Cash flyer here, but we’ll circle back to this again in late winter, sometime in January or February, to see if you’d like to sign up. Some of you already do! So, for you, here’s the info. Market Cash is good for the whole year, no expiration, and you may sign up at any time.<\/p>\n Thank YOU for taking the leap again with us this year.
