Samhain Celebration at Gallows Hill Spirits Co.<\/p>\n

“Samhain marks the Celtic New Year. It is the end of summer and the end of the harvest festivals. It also signals the beginning of winter, the time when nature begins its cycle of death.<\/p>\n

It is at this time the veil between the living and dead is thin, allowing spirits of the dead to visit the living.<\/p>\n

And it’s our time for communicating back…if you dare.”<\/p>\n

I wasn’t going to write about this celebration.\u00a0 I was taking a moment to be in the moment, yet the ceremony was beautiful.\u00a0 It was held and hosted at Gallows Hill Spirits Co.\u00a0 Gallows is owned by Bob Piano,\u00a0 he is a direct descendant of Samuel Wardwell.\u00a0 You can read about that history on the website.<\/p>\n

The amazingly talented and wonderful Reverend Bea,\u00a0 Chris Bogden, and Korie Urban held the ceremony with others.\u00a0 Samhain is a time when the veil is thin and you can communicate quite a bit more with some loved ones,\u00a0 friends,\u00a0 animals that have crossed over.\u00a0 I know some of you may be thinking…\u00a0 The Witches of Eastwick…\u00a0 Is Jack Nicholson going to show up?\u00a0 We could only wish.<\/p>\n

It’s more than that…\u00a0 It’s more than just a “bunch of Hocus Pocus.” It’s people coming together,\u00a0 sharing food, drinks, hugs, happiness, and life.\u00a0 The talented Jeff and Jennifer Donchez made a beautiful charcuterie board with some of the decadent homemade food they make.\u00a0 Guest mingled and even played a game before the ceremony started.<\/p>\n

Gallows is a host to quite a few events.\u00a0 Game Nights on Thursday’s,\u00a0 and Music Trivia Bingo by Big Productions,\u00a0 (DJ Bluto hosts) on Friday’s.\u00a0 The DJ plays such a wide variety of music.\u00a0 No matter what era or genre,\u00a0 the man has got you covered.<\/p>\n

I digress,\u00a0 back to the ceremony.\u00a0 Reverend Bea led the ceremony as only she could.\u00a0 Her presence is so bright.\u00a0 She’s a star that landed here and just bring the essense of life to so many.\u00a0 Chris Bodgen also helped start the ceremony.\u00a0 He has quite the presence and he takes time with everything.<\/p>\n

Gallows had a great crowd and the spirits are made there.\u00a0 It’s a great place.\u00a0 They have a variety of sprits.\u00a0 Bob Piano does a tour about the Salem Witch Trials, and Gallows is modeled after Salem and the Witch Trials.\u00a0 An homage to a beautiful yet sad part of history.\u00a0 Imagine not liking someone because they could predict something or saw something no one else could see. It’s quite sad.\u00a0 Gallows is a fun place.\u00a0 It’s definitely a place you should visit,\u00a0 given the opportunity.<\/p>\n

It feels like home as a friend says.\u00a0 The ceremony was beautiful.\u00a0 It’s encouraging to so many people.\u00a0 Reverend Bea,\u00a0 Chris,\u00a0 and Korie did an incredible job.<\/p>\n

On November 5, 2022, Gallows is hosting DAY OF THE DEAD<\/p>\n

“Revere and revel with Gallows Hills as we celebrate a holiday of joyful celebration to pay respects and remember friends and family who have passed on. This is not a night to mourn but to party! This is about holding dear the happy thoughts, funny events, anecdotes, songs and dances our loved ones enjoyed during their time with us!<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll have face painters available from 5:00-6:30pm so get your sugar skull on!<\/p>\n

The celebration begins at 6:30 pm with the blessing of the shrine to the departed.<\/p>\n

Special Karaoke with DJ Vira begins at 7pm.<\/p>\n

For those who would like to add to the ancestor shrine, please bring the following items:<\/p>\n

– A COPY of a photo of an ancestor(s) you would like to honor (we cannot be responsible<\/p>\n

for original photos)<\/p>\n

– Something sweet to eat to offer our loved ones<\/p>\n

– Flowers (live or artificial)<\/p>\n

– For those so inclined, sing your loved one\u2019s favorite song with Gallow Hills own DJ Vira!!<\/p>\n

Dress to impress in Day of the Dead or Witchy garb so that you may join in the Day of the Dead parade which will conclude the evening (around 10 pm)!<\/p>\n

Prizes for the best costumes!”<\/p>\n
