{"id":114621,"date":"2022-11-12T15:58:50","date_gmt":"2022-11-12T20:58:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=114621"},"modified":"2022-11-12T15:59:28","modified_gmt":"2022-11-12T20:59:28","slug":"capital-blue-cross-offers-new-medicare-advantage-plans-enhanced-benefits-for-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=114621","title":{"rendered":"Capital Blue Cross Offers New Medicare Advantage Plans, Enhanced Benefits for 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Medicare Annual Enrollment Period Runs Through Dec. 7<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>HARRISBURG<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Capital Blue Cross\u2019 Medicare Advantage offerings for 2023 will continue to provide the strong access, affordability, flexibility, and benefits Medicare beneficiaries have come to expect from Capital, with some improvements.<\/p>\n<p>Capital\u2019s existing BlueJourney Select PPO plan is getting a new name \u2013 Capital Blue Cross Select PPO \u2013 with enhanced benefits, and three new Medicare Advantage PPO plans are being introduced:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Capital Blue Cross Enhanced PPO<\/li>\n<li>Capital Blue Cross Value PPO<\/li>\n<li>Capital Blue Cross | WellSpan Value PPO<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cOur Medicare Advantage plans are evolving to better meet the changing needs and expectations of Medicare enrollees,\u201d said Capital Blue Cross Senior Vice President of Government Programs Frank Fern\u00e1ndez. \u201cMore importantly, we have built a reputation for making it easy for our members to understand and use their benefits, so whichever plan you choose, we\u2019ll continue to go the extra mile to be a reliable, trusted partner in your healthcare.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Capital has a variety of plans to fit different needs and budgets, including $0 premium HMOs and PPOs, and offers robust market-leading benefits, including dental, vision, hearing, transportation, and a flexible over-the-counter allowance.<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights of Capital Blue Cross\u2019 Medicare Advantage offerings for 2023 include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More plan options with $0 copays for tier-1 drugs at preferred pharmacies.<\/li>\n<li>An over-the-counter (OTC) prescription medication allowance that is quarterly instead of monthly, providing more flexibility to buy non-prescription health and wellness products when you need them.<\/li>\n<li>Most plans have \u201cper stay\u201d inpatient hospital copays rather than \u201cper day\u201d copays, which can save money on extended hospital stays.<\/li>\n<li>Some plans now include six visits for routine\/preventive chiropractic and six routine podiatry visits.<\/li>\n<li>Certain plans offer lowered copays for specialist visits and X-rays.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To help Medicare-eligible individuals make informed decisions, Capital is hosting\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.capitalbluemedicare.com\/wps\/portal\/capm\/home\/what-is-medicare\/seminar?utm_source=MediaRoom&amp;utm_medium=TextLink&amp;utm_campaign=Medicare_AEP_2019\">several informational seminars\u00a0<\/a>throughout our 21-county service area.
