And it&#8217;s interesting history between these two teams, who have always been compared as evenly matched, not only on the football field, but in academics as well. The history of Lehigh and Colgate on the field goes back one hundred years, to 1922, where an established Colgate took on an up and coming football team, Lehigh, in Binghamton, NY.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><div class=\"su-image-carousel  su-image-carousel-columns-4 su-image-carousel-has-spacing su-image-carousel-has-lightbox su-image-carousel-has-outline to present day, The Lehigh Mountain Hawks won the coin toss, and elected to receive, but it was the Colgate Raiders who landed on the score board first, within five minutes of the start of the game. With less than five minutes left in the first quarter, the Raiders scored again. The Mountain Hawks scored by the close of the quarter, trailing 14-7.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As the second quarter started, the Raiders found themselves in range for a field goal, and spread the lead a little more, 17-7. However, The Mountain Hawks rose to the occasion to close the gap with another touchdown, 17-14, but it was short lived as the Raiders scored again with a field goal, with three and half minutes left in the first half, 20-14.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The Raiders hit the score board once again early in the third quarter, 26-14, The Mountain Hawks rallied for another touchdown, still \u00a0trailing 26-21.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The fourth quarter brought a resurgence of energy and determination for The Mountain Hawks, and it all came down to the last four minutes of the game. The Mountain Hawks scored, and \u00a0 before they could enjoy taking the lead, the Raiders scored again, 33-29.
