The Liberty High School Girls Volleyball team announced that it has made a donation in the amount of $3,000 to Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley.<\/p>\n

Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA recently held a \u201cPink Out\u201c\u00a0 Volleyball match against Lehigh Valley rival Nazareth Blue Eagles.\u00a0\u00a0 The event included a basket raffle with over 50 baskets and donations from various businesses throughout the Lehigh Valley.\u00a0 Sponsors included Pat\u2019s Pizza & Bistro in Bethlehem, Univest Bank, and Paranee Properties.\u00a0 With proceeds from the event, the Liberty Hurricanes were able to donate generously to help those fighting Cancer.<\/p>\n

Liberty HS Girls Volleyball Head Coach Connor Swigart said, \u201cThe young women on the Liberty volleyball team encompass the values of hard work and dedication on and off the court.\u00a0 This year\u2019s event was bigger than ever, with so much community support. We\u2019re thankful for the opportunity to give back and make a difference\u201d.<\/p>\n

Amanda Buss, Executive Director of Cancer Support Community of the Greater Lehigh Valley, was in attendance during the event.\u00a0 \u201cBecause of your generosity, we are able to offer psychosocial support services as an integral part of comprehensive cancer care. Our support groups, educational programs, and healthy activities help participants regain control in managing their health, reduce stress and isolation, and restore a sense of hope for an improved quality of life during treatment and in survivorship\u201d, said Buss.<\/p>\n
