Deaths of Northampton County Residents in 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Between January 1<sup>st<\/sup> and December 22, 2022 the Northampton County Coroner recorded 217 COVID-19 related deaths in Northampton County (193 Residents\/24 Non-Residents).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe pandemic is not over yet and cases of COVID-19 continue to be reported in our area,\u201d says Lamont McClure. \u201cI encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated and boosted and to wear a mask when in the presence of someone who is vulnerable to infection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>193 Resident decedents in 2022: Data 2022<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The ages of the deceased range from 38 to 101 years. Average age of the deceased is 81.9 years<\/p>\n<p>Gender \u2013 51% Female, 49% Male<\/p>\n<p>Race: 93% White, 1.5% African American, 5% Hispanic, 0.5% Asian<\/p>\n<p>The GIS department has put together a dashboard to track COVID-19 infections and related deaths in Northampton County. It can be accessed at: <a href=\"https:\/\/northampton.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/dashboards\/f7ebb1cbef564a6ca17a89632522e568\"><strong>https:\/\/northampton.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/dashboards\/f7ebb1cbef564a6ca17a89632522e56<\/strong><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/northampton.maps.arcgis.com\/apps\/dashboards\/f7ebb1cbef564a6ca17a89632522e568\"><strong>8<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Please note\u2014the 217 unfortunate victims of COVID-19 do not provide enough data points for a statistically significant sample. Younger people remain at significant and serious risk. All eligible Northampton County residents should get vaccinated and boosted and continue to practice social distancing when in the presence of someone who might be vulnerable to the virus.<\/p>\n<p>This information is being provided as they are the facts as they exist on the ground as of today. These profound losses to our community do not provide us with enough scientific evidence to draw any conclusions.<\/p>\n<p>The drive-through testing\/vaccination clinic at 3100 Emrick Blvd in Bethlehem Township has closed.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vaccines and boosters are available by appointment only for those age 6-months and older at the LVH-Hecktown Oaks Hospital Campus, 3780 Hecktown Road, Easton, PA between 10AM and 6PM on the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> and 4<sup>th<\/sup> Thursdays of each month. To schedule an appointment call the hotline 833-584-6283.
