Bethlehem, PA (January 25, 2023) Joe and Joyce Fasula, owners and operators of 10 Gerrity\u2019s The Fresh Grocer supermarkets in Pennsylvania, attended a book fair Monday at Lincoln Elementary School in Bethlehem. Gerrity\u2019s The Fresh Grocer is sponsoring the week-long book fair that guarantees each child who wishes to purchase a book is able to do so.<\/p>\n

The donation this year from Gerrity\u2019s The Fresh Grocer means each classroom will get 30 minutes to browse the school book fair and each child can select and purchase a book, regardless of their ability to pay for it.<\/p>\n

School book fairs give students a unique opportunity to expand\u00a0their libraries, sharpen their reading skills and develop a passion for literature. Giving students the power to choose their own books that interest them builds excitement within the school community. With its donation, Gerrity\u2019s ensures \u201ceveryone reads\u201d at Lincoln Elementary School, hoping to inspire a generation of young bibliophiles.<\/p>\n

Gerrity\u2019s is a family-owned supermarket business that began in 1895 as a small meat market. Today, the company is the largest family-owned supermarket business in Northeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley and is led by Joe Fasula and his mom, Joyce Fasula, known to customers as \u201cMom.\u201d\u00a0The company includes 10 supermarkets in Lackawanna, Luzerne and Northampton counties and currently employs over 1,300 associates.<\/p>\n
