HARRISBURG, March 6 \u2013<\/b>\u00a0State Rep. Josh Siegel today announced that he has been appointed to serve on the PA House Appropriations Committee.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
\u201cThis appointment is truly a great honor, and it comes with significant responsibilities,\u201d said Siegel, D-Lehigh. \u201cOn this committee, I will be a part of the state budget process and consider the fiscal policies that will impact the lives of seniors, students, families, law enforcement, businesses and workers throughout Pennsylvania. With this position, I will be able to advocate not only for my district, but for all the taxpayers of the Commonwealth.\u201d<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
In accordance with House rules, the Appropriations Committee evaluates legislative proposals for fiscal implications prior to voting a bill out of committee. The committee also plays a pivotal role in forming recommendations for budget and fiscal-related matters and is integrally involved in the annual budget process.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
In addition to the state budget, the committee also has jurisdiction over the offices of Auditor General and State Treasurer and the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
