Harrisburg, PA<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 The Pennsylvania House Ethics Committee reorganized for the 2023-24 session and, as its first action on Thursday, unanimously adopted updated committee rules and procedures, including an updated committee website to make it easier for individuals to file an ethics complaint. \u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The\u00a0website<\/a>\u00a0updates include providing direct committee contact information, an online complaint form, and links to\u00a0House Rules<\/a>\u00a0and the committee’s\u00a0General and Procedural Rules<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/u>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone deserves to feel safe when conducting business with any member of the House of Representatives, and these updates will ensure that our policies are clear to House members and the public and that any accusation or complaint is taken seriously and examined thoroughly,\u201d\u00a0said House Ethics Committee Democratic Chairwoman Donna Bullock, D-Philadelphia.\u00a0\u201cOur unanimous and bipartisan actions follow our chamber\u2019s adoption of stronger ethics rules, which are the first steps toward a better workplace environment.”<\/span><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

“My Republican colleagues and I look forward to working alongside our Democratic colleagues in a bipartisan way to continue bringing fairness and\u00a0integrity to the House Ethics Committee,”\u00a0said House Ethics Committee Republican Vice Chair Kate A. Klunk, R-Hanover.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cOur first step in doing this is\u00a0the launch of an updated committee website with a new online complaint form.\u00a0The people we serve can now easily access our ethics rules and\u00a0instructions on how to file an ethics complaint with the committee.\u00a0We remain committed to restoring people\u2019s trust in government, upholding the highest\u00a0standards of ethics, and fairly reviewing any complaints that may come before the committee.”<\/span><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
