JOHN T. BURRUS APPOINTED AS CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Bethlehem Area School District is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. John T. Burrus as the District\u2019s Chief Human Resources Officer.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Burrus brings to the District a wealth of knowledge and experience. His most current role was in Easton Area School District as the Chief Human Resources Officer and prior he was the Director of Human Resources in Pleasant Valley School District for a total of 8 years in Human Resources. Prior he served as a principal and an assistant principal at East Stroudsburg Area School District. Additionally, Dr. Burrus began his career as a mid- level science teacher at Bangor Area School District.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Burrus received a doctoral degree in administrative leadership from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a M.B.A. from DeSales University with a concentration in Human Resources, Masters of Education in administrative leadership, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am excited to have Dr. Burrus join our senior leadership team. With his extensive human resources, administrative, and instructional experience in the school districts, he will be a valuable asset to the Bethlehem Area School District,\u201d said Dr. Joseph Roy, Superintendent of Schools.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Burrus is taking over for Mr. Russ Giordano who will be retiring at the end of the school year.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome Dr. Burrus in his new position in the Bethlehem Area School District.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>About the Bethlehem Area School District<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Bethlehem Area School District is the 6th largest school district in Pennsylvania serving nearly 14,000 culturally and economically diverse students in 22 community-based schools. The district serves five municipalities: City of Bethlehem, Bethlehem Township, Hanover Township, Freemansburg, and Fountain Hill.
