Lehigh Valley, Pa – The Lehigh Valley Master Gardeners present the\u00a0Home Gardener Conference<\/strong>, a one-day event filled with workshops for gardeners that will assist attendees in finding inspiration for their gardens this year. The event will take place on Saturday, April 22 from 8 am \u2013 3 pm at Penn State Lehigh Valley, 2809 Saucon Valley Rd, Center Valley PA 18034.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Our Keynote Speaker, Dr. Amy Korman, Extension Educator will discuss the fascinating, sometimes frustrating, insects in our garden landscapes. Expand your gardening knowledge by choosing three concurrent sessions to spark change in your garden or windowsill this year! Presentations on restoring American chestnuts, assisting pollinators, flowering trees, using native plants in the landscape, Japanese gardens and growing dahlias are among the options.<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Additionally, there will be vendors selling plants and other items related to gardening. This will include one-of-a kind birdhouses, unique house plants, bog plants, perennials, and other items. All participants will be eligible to win door prizes provided by the vendors. The conference asks attendees to bring a refillable water bottle. The $40 registration fee will include a choice of box lunches and breakfast pastries. Master Gardener volunteers support Penn State Extension’s educational programs in consumer horticulture. They develop their horticultural\u00a0expertise through participation in educational training classes conducted by Penn State University faculty and Extension staff.<\/i><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

The Penn State Master Gardener volunteer program supports the outreach mission of Penn State Extension by\u00a0utilizing unbiased research-based information to educate the public and our communities on best practices in sustainable horticulture and environmental stewardship.<\/i><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
