EMMAUS, Pa. –\u00a0March 29, 2023-\u00a0Purr Haus<\/a>, a one-of-a-kind boutique carrying \u201cThe Best Stuff for Cats and the People Who Love Them,\u201d will welcome several \u201cunusual cats\u201d\u00a0for an adoption event on Saturday, April 1., 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

The strange-looking\u00a0\u201ccats\u201d\u00a0are seeking homes through\u00a0Starting Over Animal Rescue<\/a>\u00a0one of several local rescue organizations that team with Purr Haus to find adopters. Purr Haus owner Laurie Mason Schroeder said she was happy to welcome the animals, even though they\u2019re not the store\u2019s typical visitors.<\/p>\n

\u201cCats are usually sleek and quiet,\u201d she noted. \u201cThese ones tend to wag their tails a lot,\u00a0bark\u00a0and\u00a0even\u00a0slobber. But they\u2019re really cute.\u201d<\/p>\n

Visitors to the shop during SOAR\u2019s visit can take a chance at winning a $25 Purr Haus gift card by donating a bag of pet food (Blue Buffalo chicken and rice for dogs or Optimum from Pet Supplies Plus of any flavor are the preferred brands however any donation is welcome!) The winner will be drawn at the end of the event.<\/p>\n

Purr Haus is located at 27 S. 7th Street in Emmaus, one block off Chestnut Street, behind CVS. The shop holds adoption events every Saturday and Sunday. To date, 72 cats have found their forever homes after visiting Purr Haus.<\/p>\n

Starting Over Animal Rescue facilitates high quality affordable spay\/neuter surgeries for feral, stray, and house pets and provides shelter to abused, neglected, and abandoned animals.<\/p>\n
