{"id":117256,"date":"2023-03-31T21:30:55","date_gmt":"2023-04-01T01:30:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=117256"},"modified":"2023-03-31T21:30:55","modified_gmt":"2023-04-01T01:30:55","slug":"valley-youth-house-receives-3-3-million-in-continuum-of-care-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=117256","title":{"rendered":"Valley Youth House Receives $3.3 million in Continuum of Care Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>BETHLEHEM, PA (3\/30\/2023):\u00a0<\/strong>Valley Youth House is proud to announce that it has been awarded over $3.3 million in Continuum of Care (CoC) awards from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), reflecting the organization&#8217;s commitment to providing housing and supportive services to young people and their families across 14 counties in Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n<p>The following CoC awards have been granted to Valley Youth House:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Rap4Youth: $720,544<\/li>\n<li>Luzerne County RRH:\u00a0$408,239<\/li>\n<li>Montgomery County TH-RRH Adult Families: $152,159<\/li>\n<li>Montgomery County RRH Families: 122,528<\/li>\n<li>TH-RRH Montgomery County Young Adults: 190,104<\/li>\n<li>RRH Lackawanna: 85,113<\/li>\n<li>LV RRH Families:\u00a0$322,472<\/li>\n<li>TH-RRH\u00a0LV Youth: 535,694<\/li>\n<li>Bucks TH-RRH: 346,158<\/li>\n<li>York RRH Youth: $221,751<\/li>\n<li>York TH-RRH Youth: $116,423<\/li>\n<li>York RRH Expansion: $131,256<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These awards support Valley Youth House&#8217;s Rapid Rehousing (RRH) programs that help unstably housed youth and families obtain a place to live.\u00a0Working closely with their Life Skills Counselor, Housing Stability Coach, and\/or Mental Health Therapist, youth receive assistance in locating safe housing, gaining employment, and developing the life skills to be self-supporting.\u00a0In 2022, Valley Youth House&#8217;s Rapid Rehousing programs helped hundreds of clients&#8217; housing situations improve drastically, and these awards will ensure the continued success of these programs.<\/p>\n<p>Valley Youth House is grateful to the Department of Housing and Urban Development for their ongoing support and recognition of the importance of addressing homelessness in our communities.
