A feast for the eyes:<\/b>\u00a0As part of\u00a0Highmark\u2019s recommitment, EPM visitors \u2013 more than 5,000 each week \u2013 will be treated to newly remodeled\u00a0Highmark\u00a0Farmstand\u00a0d\u00e9cor that will showcase local farmers and celebrate the region\u2019s food heritage in addition to new\u00a0Highmark\u00a0and\u00a0Highmark\u00a0Farmstand\u00a0logos.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

No food desert:<\/b>\u00a0Amid continued residential growth in downtown Easton, the\u00a0Highmark\u00a0Farmstand\u00a0in the Easton Public Market (EPM) has been pivotal to ensuring that city residents have ready access to fresh produce and healthy foods five days a week since 2016, alleviating the food desert problem that plagues so many urban areas.<\/p>\n

Supporting local foodways:<\/b>\u00a0Highmark\u00a0Blue Shield and non-for-profit Greater Easton Development Partnership (GEDP) renewed their partnership in 2022. GEDP operates the\u00a0Highmark\u00a0Farmstand, which focuses on local sourcing of produce, dairy, eggs, and other items to support local foodways.<\/p>\n

New SNAP partner in 2023:<\/b>\u00a0Highmark\u00a0Farmstand\u00a0welcomes Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Philadelphia-based The Food Trust (thefoodtrust.org<\/a>) will double SNAP purchases up to $10 through the use of Food Bucks for fruits and veggies when shoppers spend at least $2 using SNAP. GEDP markets are the first Lehigh Valley locations to partner with Philly not-for-profit.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n
