Pinebrook Family Answers is hosting a Block Party to celebrate National Foster Care Month on Saturday, May 20th<\/sup>\u00a0from 11 am to 2 pm. Everyone is welcome to enjoy free food, music, activities, face painting, and balloon animals. Community partners including the Allentown Police Department, Community Services for Children, The Kindness Project, Community Bike Works, Miller-Keystone Blood Center, Kellyn Foundation, Star Wellness, KidStrong Allentown, Talk, Read, Sing\/United Way LV will be onsite with activities and program information. Crayola\u2019s mascot, Blue, is making a special guest appearance at lunch time.<\/p>\n

Pinebrook Family Answers has been providing foster care services for over forty years, with a variety of programs to meet the individual needs of children requiring out-of-home placement, and their families.<\/p>\n

May is National Foster Care Month, a time to acknowledge foster parents, family members, volunteers, mentors, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and other members of the community who help children and youth in foster care find permanent homes and connections. Children are in foster care because they or their families are going through a crisis. Often these children\u2014from babies to teens\u2014have been removed from their parents because they are unsafe, abused or neglected. Foster families play a vital role in helping children and families heal, reconnect, and find permanency, Foster parents provide the love, safety, and stability that children need to overcome past traumatic experiences so that they can reach their full potential.
