Lehigh Valley, Pa. (May 23, 2023) \u2013 On Sunday, May 21, Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute\u2019s sports medicine team partnered with two collegiate lacrosse players to host a free boys\u2019 and girls\u2019 lacrosse clinic at the East Penn School District Stadium.<\/p>\n
During the two-hour program, Lehigh University men\u2019s lacrosse player Michael Sisselberger and Temple University women\u2019s lacrosse player Taylor Moncman led young athletes in a variety of drills. Sisselberger and Moncman are both graduates of Southern Lehigh High School. Sisselberger is a current USA Lacrosse team member and holds the Patriot League record for groundballs. Moncman was the 2022 Temple women\u2019s lacrosse team captain and is a two-year starter entering her junior season.<\/p>\n
More than 100\u00a0boys and girls in\u00a0fourth through eighth grades attended the clinic. The event was sponsored by Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN)\u2019s Impact Athlete Program. The program connects local youth athletes with professional and collegiate athletes who serve as positive role models.<\/p>\n
Joe Luther, orthopedic and sports medicine outreach liaison, Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute, says it\u2019s an honor to host an event that encourages and supports young athletes.<\/p>\n
“Lacrosse is a popular sport in our community, and this event was a great opportunity for young players to receive instruction from some of the best collegiate lacrosse players in the country,\u201d Luther says. \u201cMichael and Taylor also serve as excellent role models and great examples of the type of success that can be achieved with hard work and dedication.”<\/p>\n
Other LVHN Impact Athletes include Jahan Dotson, who is a professional football wide receiver, and University of Florida track and field star and 2022 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Champion (400 meters) Talitha Diggs.<\/p>\n
