The\u00a0Squirrel Nut Zippers<\/strong>\u00a0(SNZ) are bringing their joyous, raucous\u00a0Holiday Caravan\u00a0Tour<\/strong>\u00a0back this season and, this year, they\u2019re performing all of the hits from Christmas past! Kicking off\u00a0November 29<\/strong>\u00a0at the\u00a0Pace Center in Parker, CO<\/strong>\u00a0and culminating at the\u00a0Fox Tucson Theatre in Tucson, AZ<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0December 23<\/strong>, the 21-date routing will feature songs from their\u00a0Christmas Caravan<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Mardi Gras<\/em>\u00a0for Christmas<\/em>\u00a0albums as well as other\u00a0Zippers favorites.\u00a0From heartwarming ballads to\u00a0boisterous dance tunes, the band conjures an\u00a0atmosphere\u00a0nestled\u00a0somewhere between the wondrous lights of Christmas and the backroom din of a speakeasy. This show is a must-see for any true music lover.<\/p>\n

Inspired by 1920s jazz, klezmer and vaudeville, SNZ\u2019s endlessly curious and innovative leader Jimbo Mathus has\u00a0concocted a\u00a0sound truly unique and original. No other artist of his generation has embraced and synthesized eclectic influences in such a seamless,\u00a0authentic manner. This unique blend is on full\u00a0display with the Holiday Caravan show, which\u00a0has increasingly grown in popularity, selling out venues throughout the United States.<\/p>\n

The Platinum recording artists have sold over three million albums to-date with their watershed album,\u00a0Hot<\/em>\u00a0(1996), making them a household name. Recorded in the heat of New Orleans, fueled by a smoldering mix of booze and a youthful hunger to unlock the secrets of old-world jazz, this pivotal release was just the beginning for the band.<\/p>\n

Since then, SNZ has unveiled such hits as\u00a0Beasts Of Burgundy<\/em>\u00a0(2018), which debuted at #4 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart, and\u00a0Christmas Caravan\u00a0<\/em>(1998), which went on to sell a quarter of a million copies and reach #12 on the Billboard Holiday Albums chart.<\/p>\n

Their most recent record\u00a0Lost Songs of Doc Souchon<\/em>\u00a0debuted in late 2020. It\u00a0featured 10 tracks \u2013 a combination of newly-penned Zippers songs, along with a few tunes from past times \u2013 and has received acclaim from fans and critics alike.<\/p>\n

Since reactivating in mid-2016, SNZ have been performing to packed houses across the country and around the world.\u00a0 As Mathus has said since the band\u2019s re-launch, \u201cit\u2019s not a reunion, it\u2019s a revival.\u201d<\/p>\n
