Our aim with Teachers&#8217; Night Out, and with the Passport to History partnership, is to provide busy teachers with the resources and connections they need, all in one place.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She adds, &#8220;We are thrilled to host this year\u2019s Teachers\u2019 Night Out. It is a wonderful event providing teachers access to their local cultural organizations and new strategies for engaging with their students. It is our goal to be a partner to teachers, and to provide valuable and practical opportunities for all educators and students.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Teachers will meet educators and staff from these historic sites:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Delaware &amp; Lehigh National Heritage Corridor &#8211; National Canal Museum<\/li>\n<li>Governor Wolf Historical Society<\/li>\n<li>Historic Bethlehem Museums &amp; Sites<\/li>\n<li>Historic Catasauqua Preservation Association<\/li>\n<li>Horner&#8217;s Cemetery<\/li>\n<li>Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania<\/li>\n<li>Lower Macungie Township Historical Society &#8211; Fries Rebellion Film Project<\/li>\n<li>Moravian Historical Society<\/li>\n<li>National Museum of Industrial History<\/li>\n<li>Northampton County Historical and Genealogical Society &#8211; Sigal Museum<\/li>\n<li>PAZA, Tree of Life<\/li>\n<li>Quiet Valley Living Historical Farm<\/li>\n<li>Schwenkfelder Library &amp; Heritage Center<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Special presentations and demonstrations will be provided by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Delaware &amp; Lehigh National Heritage Corridor<\/li>\n<li>Horner\u2019s Cemetery Historical Society \u2013 Craig\u2019s Settlement-The Birth of Local History<\/li>\n<li>Lower Macungie Township Historical Society \u2013 America250 Celebrations and the Fries Rebellion<\/li>\n<li>PAZA, Tree of Life \u2013 Dancing with the Star Nation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Whitney Davison\u00a0was a longtime teacher before becoming\u00a0Education Manager for the Delaware &amp; Lehigh National Heritage Corridor and National Canal Museum. &#8220;A great way to teach history,&#8221; she says, &#8220;is to teach global topics locally in the places where historical events actually happened. The best ways to do that are through field trips or to bring artifacts and educators from historic sites and museums into the classroom.
