Irish Film Festival and Parade Pub Crawl throughout Allentown\u2019s West End Highlight the Weekend\u2019s Events Leading up to Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade will be held March 20, 2016<\/span> and will depart the Allentown Fairgrounds at 2:00 pm<\/span>.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The 59th<\/sup> Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade is presented by Giant Food Stores<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

February 7, 2016 (Allentown, PA) The Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade Committee, Inc. announced today the events to be held Friday, March 11 and Saturday March 12<\/span> leading up to the 59th<\/sup> Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade presented by Giant Food Stores on March 20, 2016<\/span>.\u00a0 The Civic Theatre Irish Film Festival kicks off on Friday, March 11<\/span> and the Annual Parade Pub Crawl will be held Saturday, March 12<\/span>.\u00a0 The Parade will be held March 20, 2016<\/span>, departing from the Allentown Fairgrounds at 2:00 pm<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Civic Theatre Irish Film Festival \u2013 March 11 \u2013 March 17, 2016<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Civic Theatre will be hosting an Irish Film Festival the week of March 11 \u2013 March 17, 2016<\/span>.\u00a0 The movies shown will range from narrative dramas to animation and documentaries, and will be sure to inform as well as entertain.\u00a0 Tickets and movie schedule can be found at http:\/\/www.civictheatre.com\/<\/a> or contact Civic Movie Manager Suzanne Baltsar at 610.433.8903<\/a> or email civicmoviemanager@civictheatre.com.\u00a0 The Civic Theatre is located at 527 N. 19th<\/sup> Street, Allentown, PA 18104.<\/p>\n

Parade Pub Crawl \u2013 March 12, 2016<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Parade Pub Crawl, initiated in 2008, will take place on Saturday, March 12, 2016<\/span> throughout the West End of Allentown.\u00a0 Proceeds for the Pub Crawl benefit the Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade to pay for marching units and bands.\u00a0 There are eight sponsoring pubs; Jack Callaghan\u2019s Ale House, Tavern on Liberty Street, The Roost Tavern & Restaurant, Stooge\u2019s Bar & Grille, Volpe\u2019s Sports Bar, Shanty on 19th<\/sup>, Fairgrounds Hotel, and Greg\u2019s West End Saloon.<\/p>\n

Registration is held at each sponsoring pub and starts at 4:30 pm<\/span>.\u00a0 The pub crawl begins promptly at 6:00 pm<\/span>.\u00a0 Registration is $15 per person and includes an official Parade t-shirt.<\/p>\n

About the Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first known St. Patrick\u2019s Parade was held in Allentown in the late 1860\u2019s.\u00a0 Over a century later, in 1955, what we know as the modern day Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade was organized by business and political leaders through the St. Patrick\u2019s Day Observance Society.\u00a0 The Parade marched down Hamilton Streets to the Immaculate Conception Church on Ridge Avenue.\u00a0 The Parade will celebrate its 59th<\/sup> Anniversary on March 20, 2016<\/span> departing from the Allentown Fairgrounds at 2:00 pm<\/span>.\u00a0 For more information or to participate in the 2016 Allentown St. Patrick\u2019s Parade go to http:\/\/www.allentownstpatricksparade.com\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n
