The Northampton County Elections Office announces that it will install a secure ballot drop-off box for mail-in ballots in each of the County\u2019s four districts. The boxes will be available starting Thursday, October 5, 2023. Accessing the drop-off boxes does not require going through security at any location.<\/p>\n

To ensure that your mail-in ballot is accepted, voters must make sure the ballot is enclosed in the yellow secrecy envelope and sealed, the return envelope is signed and dated on the back in the marked yellow boxes, there are\u00a0NO\u00a0identifying marks or symbols on the secrecy envelope, and the ballot is returned to the Election\u2019s Office\u00a0NO LATER THAN\u00a08:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 7th. USPS postmarks will\u00a0NOT\u00a0count if received after this deadline.<\/p>\n
Voters may only drop off their own ballots. Third-party return of ballots is prohibited unless the person returning the ballot is rendering assistance to a disabled voter or emergency absentee voter and has a signed \u201cCertification of Designated Agent\u201d form on file at the Elections Office. A copy of this form can be downloaded here\u00a0Authorize Designated Agent Form (pa.gov)<\/a>.<\/p>\n Applications for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballots are available in the Election\u2019s Office or at\u00a0Mail-in and Absentee Ballot (pa.gov)<\/a>\u00a0or\u00a0Absentee and Mail-In Voting (northamptoncounty.org)<\/a>.\u00a0The last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot is Tuesday, October 31.<\/p>\n Counterfeiting, forging, tampering with, or destroying ballots is a second-degree misdemeanor pursuant to sections 1816 and 1817 of the PA Election Code.
