McClure"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In his second term leading the County of Northampton, County Executive Lamont G. McClure presented his sixth budget on Tuesday, October 3rd, in Council Chambers at the Northampton County Government Center.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to sound fiscal management, County Executive McClure announced that the 2024 proposed budget does not raise real estate taxes. The tax rate will remain at 10.8 mils for 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Budget priorities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dedicating funds to the preservation of farmland, open space, and environmentally sensitive land. The 2024 budget includes $3 million to protect green space and fight warehouse proliferation. The County is on pace to have invested $25 million by the end of Executive McClure\u2019s second term.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The McClure Administration provided alternatives for lowering healthcare costs, including the Employee Health Center. However, County Council chose not to adopt the plan to create an Employee Health Center.
