Lea has served as the Interim Executive Director since July of this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBobby has done excellent work shepherding the facility through the end of the 2023 season and has laid solid groundwork for a strong 2024,\u201d said Rick Beuttel, Chairman of the VPCC Board of Directors. \u201cWe are looking forward to him continuing to build on this success in 2024 and beyond and have complete faith in his leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lea, a three-time Olympian, utilized the Valley Preferred Cycling Center for decades as an athlete, coach, and Board member. \u201cI am honored and excited to take on this role with the Valley Preferred Cycling Center\u201d Lea remarked. \u201cThis venue has been a fundamental part of my life, and the lives of so many others. I\u2019m committed to building on its incredible legacy. Together with the talented team here, we\u2019ll create a vibrant hub for cycling enthusiasts and athletes of all levels.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lea has already announced the 2024\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/thevelodrome.us19.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=139ad1a46ad5e14bc84d2dcc7&amp;id=9385b87a59&amp;e=fab8c0ab3c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Friday Nights Under the Lights schedule<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and is working with his team to focus on four key areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Expand Community Programming:<\/strong>\u00a0Lea\u2019s vision includes offering a wide range of cycling programs for residents of the Lehigh Valley and beyond, fostering opportunities for community engagement and personal growth through cycling.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhance Spectator Experience:<\/strong>\u00a0Lea plans to bring new and exciting events to the VPCC while continuing to honor the history of its marquee events, offering an unforgettable experience for spectators and ensuring that the venue is a premier entertainment destination.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Support Local Talent:<\/strong>\u00a0Lea\u2019s passion for nurturing homegrown talent within the Lehigh Valley aligns with the VPCC\u2019s mission of promoting youth development in cycling. Under his guidance, the velodrome will continue to serve as a launchpad for future champions of the sport.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Strengthen Community and Business Ties:<\/strong>\u00a0Lea and the VPCC team remain committed to strengthening ties between the Valley Preferred Cycling Center and the Lehigh Valley residents and businesses.
