Susan Wild Announces Federal Investment in Safer Easton Roads and Streets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>EASTON, P.A.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Today, Congresswoman Susan Wild announced a $120,000 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant for the City of Easton. This federal funding, administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation, will allow Easton to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan to make the city a safer place for drivers and pedestrians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis investment is great news that will make Easton\u2019s roads and streets safer for both drivers and pedestrians,\u201d\u00a0<strong>said Congresswoman Susan Wild.<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m proud to have supported the City of Easton\u2019s application for this grant funding, and I\u2019ll continue working to bring back federal investments to make our communities safer places to live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited for this chance to make Easton a safer place to walk, bike, and drive,\u201d\u00a0<strong>said Easton Mayor Sal Panto.<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cSome of our streets were designed in the 19th century, and this grant will help us come up with innovative ways to adapt them to safely accommodate our residents and visitors. We are grateful for the support of the US Department of Transportation and our federal representatives who advocated for our behalf for this project, including Representative Wild and Senator Casey.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Congresswoman Wild sent a letter of support for Easton\u2019s application to the U.S. Department of Transportation, urging that the city receive full consideration for this planning grant. The City of Easton has identified areas with unusually high crash rates, and this funding for a planning grant will help guide projects to make Easton\u2019s roads safer.<\/p>\n<p>The Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program was established by the\u00a0<em>Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em>.
