36,584 Households in PA-07 Depend on the Affordable Connectivity Program\u2019s Broadband Subsidies<\/em><\/p>\n

WASHINGTON, D.C.<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Alongside more than 70 of her colleagues, Congresswoman Wild sent a\u00a0letter<\/a>\u00a0to Congressional leadership urging funding for affordable broadband through the Affordable Connectivity Program, as\u00a0requested<\/a>\u00a0in the White House\u2019s supplemental appropriations package.<\/p>\n

The Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) was enacted by the\u00a0Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em>. The ACP provides broadband subsidies to 36,584 households in PA-07 and more than 21 million households across the country, allowing Americans to access high-speed, affordable internet.<\/p>\n

Congresswoman Wild and the lawmakers wrote,<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cCongress has recognized, on a bipartisan basis, that every American must be connected to the internet to prosper and compete in a 21st century economy. We cannot risk millions of families losing access to the internet service they depend on every day by allowing the ACP to lapse.\u201d<\/p>\n

With funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program set to run out as soon as early 2024, it is critical that Congress works to keep broadband affordable for the families who benefit from this program \u2013 including the 36,584 households in PA-07.<\/p>\n

Congresswoman Wild has made expanding access to high-speed, affordable broadband a priority. She is working to bring investments that Pennsylvania has received due to the\u00a0Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and the\u00a0American Rescue Plan<\/em><\/a>\u00a0home to every corner of PA-07.<\/p>\n
