Bethlehem, PA –\u00a0The National Museum of Industrial History(NMIH) will honor those who served on Saturday, November 11, 2023.\u00a0The day will begin at 10am with a commemoration ceremony hosted by the Steelworkers Veterans Memorial Committee on the Museum\u2019s plaza. The commemoration ceremony will include a performance by the Broughal Middle School Band as well as remarks from various distinguished guests. Special keynote speaker will be Staff Sergeant Tim Chambers. Since 2002 Chambers has become known as \u201cThe Saluting Marine\u201d for a yearly salute he held in Washington, D.C. at the annual POW\/MIA event known as Rolling Thunder. Additional appearances are anticipated to include the Bethlehem Mounted Police.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n
Following the ceremony, Veterans and their families receive free admission to the museum from 10am to 5pm. Visitors will have a chance to view military-related archival footage in the Barnette Education Center throughout the day.<\/u><\/u><\/u>\u00a0<\/u><\/p>\n

About the Keynote Speaker<\/u><\/u><\/b><\/p>\n
Tim Chambers grew up working on his grandparents\u2019 farm in Silverton, Oregon. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served from 1994 to 2010. Over his career, he received numerous awards for his volunteerism and a Navy Commendation Medal for his actions on 9\/11 at the Pentagon and days after. Since 2002, he has become known as the \u201cSaluting Marine\u201d for a yearly salute he held at the annual POW\/MIA event in Washington, D.C. known as \u201cRolling Thunder\u201d. A published author and motivational speaker, he is currently enrolled at Millersville University working on obtaining a dual masters degree in Social Work and Emergency Management. Chambers is also working with his wife\u2019s real estate and loan business. He lives by his Grandpa (Coast Guard WWII Veteran) motto on the farm: \u201cThere is always something to do.\u201d His outreach focuses on young and old, no one will leave our ranks without being appreciated whether they served in the military or showed patriotism.
