Join us at Sigal Museum for a fascinating afternoon with author Jennifer L. Green. On Saturday, November 18 at 2 p.m. <\/strong>Jennifer will discuss two of her recent publications, which present the supernatural practices and folklore that were part of everyday life in Penn’s Woods.<\/p>\n

DARK HISTORY of PENN’S WOODS<\/h1>\n

\"A<\/p>\n

When ships under the command of white Europeans first sailed into the Delaware Bay in 1609, southeastern Pennsylvania’s documented history of the strange and unusual began. Jennifer Green’s book tackles seven true “dark histories”, which include tales of murder, witchcraft, cannibalism, tragic accidents, and macabre events that actually happened in the Greater Philadelphia region.<\/p>\n

\"ADARK HISTORY II<\/h1>\n

A new sequel to her first Dark History <\/em>book features more true tales of the region’s disasters, deaths and tragedies \u2013 offering readers a window into a macabre slice of history.<\/p>\n

From the \u201ccoffin ships\u201d that brought desperate European immigrants to American shores, to an explosion that took the lives of nineteen people, the Greater Philadelphia area has experienced its fair share of unusual tragedy.<\/p>\n

\"AABOUT THE AUTHOR:<\/h1>\n

Jennifer L. Green graduated from University of Delaware with majors in anthropology and history. She earned her Master\u2019s degree in American History at West Chester University. She has conducted research and written for websites like ExplorePAHistory.com and the Encyclopedia of Greater Philadelphia, and has worked at historic sites throughout Chester and Delaware counties. She is the Director of Education at the Chester County History Center in West Chester, PA.<\/p>\n

Both books are available for purchase at the Sigal Museum Store. After the book discussion and author meet- and-greet, Jennifer will sign books for attendees.<\/p>\n
