America\u2019s Grow-a-Row announced today they have distributed twenty million pounds of produce since their founding in 2002. In 2023 alone, America\u2019s Grow-a-Row harvested and distributed more than two million pounds of produce – or eight million meals – for people facing hunger.<\/p>\n
\u201cA heartfelt \u2018thank you\u2019 to everyone who helped us get to this point as we\u2019ve been able to deliver over twenty million pounds of produce for those faced with food insecurity and hunger,\u201d said Chip Paillex, President and Founder. \u201cTwenty-one years in the making, this milestone certainly wasn\u2019t achieved alone. Great people came together physically in the fields and financially to support our organization, but more importantly, to help those people who need it the most. America\u2019s Grow-a-Row reached this new milestone by harvesting produce across four farm locations in Hunterdon County and gleaning produce from farms and supermarkets. This year, America\u2019s Grow-a-Row planted and harvested approximately twenty varieties of produce including apples, corn, cucumbers, peaches, squash, bell peppers, eggplants, and tomatoes by nearly 10,000 volunteers. America\u2019s Grow-a-Row\u2019s increased gleaning efforts rescued and<\/p>\n
delivered produce to food pantries throughout the Garden State that would have otherwise been discarded.<\/p>\n
The mission of America\u2019s Grow-a-Row<\/a> is to positively impact as many lives as possible through a volunteer effort of planting, picking, rescuing, and delivering free fresh produce to more than 20 states across the country. Critical to our unique mission, our education program shares the health benefits of incorporating fresh produce into one\u2019s diet while teaching ways to cook the produce we distribute.
