We might be dreaming of a white Christmas, but Mother Nature has other plans; with inclement weather on the horizon, the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber, proud partners of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber, and the municipalities of the Northwestern Lehigh area have decided to postpone the 3rd<\/sup> Annual Northwestern Lehigh Tree Lighting Ceremony to Thursday, December 7th<\/sup> from 5:30-7:30 PM.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile it\u2019s not the decision we wanted to be making, we won\u2019t let a little rain dampen our holiday spirits,\u201d said Kylie Adams-Weiss, Assistant Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. \u201cIn our third year, we\u2019re extremely excited to continue to grow this event in new and innovative ways, and while this event may be forced to adapt to the weather\u2019s schedule, we are looking forward to a very merry and joyful time in Ontelaunee Park on Thursday!\u201d<\/p>\n

Returning for its third year, the Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce, proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, has partnered with Heidelberg, Lynn, Lowhill and Weisenberg Townships and Presenting Sponsor the Honey Done List Co. for the 3rd<\/sup> Annual Northwestern Lehigh Tree Lighting Ceremony.<\/p>\n

The event, which saw over 1,500 attendees in 2022, will take place on December 7, 2023 from 5:30-7:30 PM (with Santa\u2019s arrival for the official tree lighting scheduled for 6:30 PM) and is free and open to the public. Performances are in the process of being rescheduled, but enhancements like live reindeer (sponsored by New Tripoli Bank) and an Ice Carving Demonstration (sponsored by Eight Oaks Farm Distillery) will be present to awe those in attendance. A DJ is scheduled to rock the holiday tunes throughout the park.<\/p>\n

A vendor market will take place in the lower pavilion with crafters, nonprofits and local businesses with goods for sale for holiday shopping; the upper pavilion will host a variety of food samples (including soup samples from Curious Goods at the Bake Oven Inn, hotdogs, hot cider from Eight Oaks Farm Distillery, and hot chocolate, sponsored by Sam\u2019s Club of Allentown, Weisenberg Township, and Heintzelman Funeral Homes-Schnecksville), giveaway items at the Chamber Booth, and a holiday DJ. Throughout the evening, attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with Frozen\u2019s Elsa, Ana and Olaf. Food trucks, such as Nesting Box Ice Cream, Big Country Concessions, Hungry Hound Express, Wow Wagon and the Nacho Depot will offer food for purchase to those in attendance.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Tree Lighting festivities, the event will also host a food drive. \u201cIt is crucial that we open our hearts to those in need all year long,\u201d said Jessica O\u2019Donnell-Gower, Executive Vice President of Affiliated Chambers for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. \u201cThe holidays remind us that the spirit of giving is alive and well, and the Chamber likes to ensure that we are helping others in the community.\u201d This year\u2019s food drive will collect canned goods and nonperishable items for the Lowhill Food Pantry.<\/p>\n
