{"id":12619,"date":"2016-03-14T14:45:18","date_gmt":"2016-03-14T18:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=12619"},"modified":"2016-03-14T14:54:15","modified_gmt":"2016-03-14T18:54:15","slug":"httpwww-thevalleyledger-comp1904-188","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=12619","title":{"rendered":"ASD offers Keystone and PSSA Focused Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">Workshop is part of the District\u2019s \u201cParent University\u201d<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Allentown, PA (March 11, 2016)<\/strong>\u00a0 As part of the Allentown School District\u2019s \u201cParent University,\u201d the District will be hosting its <em>Keystone &amp; Pennsylvania State Standardized Assessment (PSSA) Workshop<\/em> on Wednesday, March 16. The workshop is FREE and open to all ASD parents and guardians; and will be held at Dieruff High School\u2019s Media Center, from 5:00 p.m. \u2013 6:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Parents and guardians who attend the workshop will be provided with information on expectations of these standardized tests, support options in place to assist their student in preparing for the tests, and ideas on what they can do to continue supporting the learning process at home.<\/p>\n<p>ASD\u2019s \u201cParent University\u201d was created to offer parents and guardians the opportunity to attend workshops focused on insightful information on a variety of educational and healthy topics that would be of benefit to their students and families.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining workshops are scheduled as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<ul>\n<li>April 6; 5:00 p.m. \u2013 6:30 p.m.; Location TBD: <em>How to connect with ASD services\/supports<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li><i>April 27; 6:30 p.m. \u2013 8:00 p.m. at Harrison Morton Middle School Auditorium: <em>Healthy Minds\/ Healthy Bodies<\/em><\/i><\/li>\n<li>May 11; 5:00 p.m. \u2013 6:30 p.m. at South Mountain Middle School: <em>Social Emotional Learning\/ Restorative Practices<\/em>Louis E. Dieruff High School is located at 815 North Irving Street, Allentown.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About Allentown School District<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ASD serves more than 16,000 students in a network of 22 early childhood, elementary, middle and high schools located throughout the City of Allentown, PA.
