Nazareth, PA\u2014The Moravian Historical Society is pleased to announce a youth embroidery workshop with the Lehigh Valley Embroiderers\u2019 Guild of America (LVEGA).<\/p>\n
On Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 1:00 pm, makers aged 8 through 17 are invited to learn embroidery techniques such as cross stitch, backstitch, and French knots. Participants will create a \u201cWelcome Sachet” or a \u201cDoor Hanger.\u201d The workshop will be led by members of the LVEGA and will take place in the 1740 Gray Cottage at the Moravian Historical Society. Tickets are $15 per participant and are available on the Moravian Historical Society\u2019s website: www.moravianhistory.org.<\/a> Beginners are welcome.<\/p>\n Workshop participants are also invited to view the Moravian Historical Society\u2019s special exhibition, Stitch by Stitch: Celebrating 45 years of the Lehigh Valley Embroiderers\u2019 Guild<\/em>, which features a display of needle arts work by members of the LVEGA. The exhibition is on display in the Moravian Historical Society Museum now through February 25, 2024. Established in 1977 to share their love of needle arts, the LVEGA is part of the Embroiderers\u2019 Guild of America, whose mission is, \u201cInspiring passion for needle arts through education and the celebration of its heritage.\u201d<\/p>\n The Moravian Historical Society\u2019s Museum is open daily from 1:00 to 4:00 pm and is located at 214 East Center Street, Nazareth, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n Founded in 1857, the Moravian Historical Society (MHS) preserves, interprets, and celebrates the rich culture of the Moravians. MHS maintains the 1740\u20131743 Whitefield House and the 1740 Gray Cottage, the oldest surviving Moravian structure in North America.
