Robert Freeman said the Commonwealth Financing Authority today approved $214,850 in state grants for various projects throughout his legislative district.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it\u2019s for a park project or other important planning function, these grants will help the municipalities complete them in a timely manner. I would like to thank the CFA and Senator Lisa Boscola for offering their support toward these grants,\u201d said Freeman, D-Northampton.<\/p>\n<p>Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program grants were awarded to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Hellertown Borough: $100,000 for Reinhard&#8217;s Park Development Phase I.<\/li>\n<li>City of Easton: $50,000 for the Two Rivers Waterfront Planning Project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A $50,000 Watershed Restoration Protection Program grant will be used by Palmer Township for its Fox Run Park and Open Space Schoeneck Creek Project.<\/p>\n<p>A separate $14,850 Sewage Facilities Program grant was provided to Palmer Township so that it can update its Act 537 Plan which identifies and documents the sewage disposal needs in the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>The CFA is an independent state agency that oversees the distribution of Pennsylvania\u2019s economic stimulus packages to support public projects.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s grants were awarded through the Marcellus Legacy Fund, which was created by Act 13 of 2012 to provide for the distribution of unconventional gas well impact fees to counties, municipalities and commonwealth agencies.<\/p>\n<p>House Democrats are committed to promoting better jobs, better schools and better communities.
