The annual Gala is the Museum\u2019s primary fundraiser, raising vital funds for all operations, including exhibitions, programs for children and adults, and the preservation of the historic site. The Martin Guitar Charitable Foundation, started by Chris Martin in 1996, has supported the Moravian Historical Society and many other nonprofit groups in our region. The C.F. Martin &amp; Co. and the Martin family have supported the Moravian Historical Society as early as 1869 when C.F. Martin Jr. was a member of the Society. MHS maintains the 1740\u20131743 Whitefield House and the 1740 Gray Cottage, the oldest surviving Moravian structure in North America. Recognized widely for its significant collection, the museum offers permanent and changing exhibitions, educational programs, guided tours, and public activities.
