Five new community members will help lead the organization.<\/p>\n
Allentown, Pa. (January 30, 2024) – <\/strong>Communities In Schools of Eastern Pennsylvania (CIS of Eastern PA) is pleased to announce that Karianne Gelinas is being elevated from her role as the agency\u2019s Vice Chair to the new Board Chair. Gelinas succeeds Michelle Schmidt, PH.D. as the nonprofit\u2019s lead board officer. Longtime board member Adrian Marsh has also been assigned as the new Vice Chair of the agency.<\/p>\n The change in leadership coincides with five new officers joining the organization\u2019s Board of Directors, with the appointment of Lizette Epps, Maureen Gorman, Angela Gosman, Katelyn Mack, and J. Stuart Pidcock.<\/p>\n Gelinas has been on the CIS of Eastern PA Board of Directors for three years and serves on the agency\u2019s Talent Committee and the Executive committee. She is the Vice President of Regional Partnerships and Talent Strategies at Lehigh Valley Economic Development<\/a>.<\/p>\n Marsh has been a member of the CIS of Eastern PA Board of Directors for two years and has been a crucial member of the agency\u2019s Finance Committee. He is the Global Head of Administrative Finance for Olympus Corporation of the Americas<\/a>.<\/p>\n Lizette Epps will be an integral part of the CIS of Eastern PA\u2019s board of directors working closely with members of the DEI Core Team. She is the Executive Director of Financial Services & Internal Ops for Alvernia University O\u2019Pake Institute.<\/a> Epps also serves on the board of the Berks<\/a> Latino Workforce Development Corporation<\/a> and the Associate Board of Directors of First<\/a> Commonwealth Federal Credit Union.<\/a><\/p>\n Maureen Gorman is an Associate Attorney in the Reading office of Stevens & Lee<\/a>. Gorman will work to help grow the nonprofit\u2019s reach with the Community Relations committee. She also has community involvement roles with the Berks and Lancaster County Bar Associations and the Circle of Life Coalition<\/a>. Both Epps and Gorman\u2019s Berks County roots will aid in the continued expansion of services in the greater Berks County community.<\/p>\n Angela Gosman is executive vice president and chief human resources officer<\/p>\n for PPL Corporation.<\/a> She provides oversight and direction for all human resources<\/p>\n functions across PPL\u2019s family of companies. Gosman will work closely with the CIS of Eastern PA Talent committee.<\/p>\n Katelyn Mack is the President & Chief Operating Officer at LINC (LEARNING | INCLUSION |<\/a> NETWORKING | COMMUNITY)<\/a>. Prior to moving to the Lehigh Valley, she was vice president of the Boys of Girls Club of the Peninsula in Menlo Park, CA. She will be a part of the CIS of Eastern PA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Core Team.<\/p>\n Stuart Pidcock is a Principal and Project Manager of the land planning, civil engineering and architectural firm The Pidcock Company<\/a> in Allentown. He also serves on the board of directors at Wildlands Conservancy<\/a> and will be serving on the Talent Committee with CIS of Eastern PA.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are looking forward to the leadership that Karianne and Adrian will provide to our organization,\u201d said CIS of Eastern PA President and CEO Tim Mulligan. \u201cWe also want to welcome our new leaders of the Board of Directors.
