{"id":127441,"date":"2024-02-15T06:48:50","date_gmt":"2024-02-15T11:48:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=127441"},"modified":"2024-02-15T06:48:50","modified_gmt":"2024-02-15T11:48:50","slug":"st-lukes-hires-20000th-employee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thevalleyledger.com\/?p=127441","title":{"rendered":"St. Luke\u2019s Hires 20,000th Employee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Photo caption: Caitlin Kolba at her first day of work for St. Luke\u2019s this week.<\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When Caitlin Kolba reported for her first day of work at St. Luke\u2019s University Health Network this week, she became the Network\u2019s 20,000th employee \u2013 the personification of St. Luke\u2019s remarkable transformation into the Lehigh Valley\u2019s largest and most recognized health system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI wanted to apply to St. Luke\u2019s after talking to other people who worked there,\u201d said Kolba, 32, of Bethlehem Township, who is now employed as a clinical social worker in the extended acute care unit at St. Luke\u2019s Sacred Heart Campus in Allentown. \u201cJob satisfaction is very high. There are so many opportunities for growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After living in Virginia for nearly two decades, Kolba returned to the Lehigh Valley, where she grew up until age 11. While working at an independent practice in Allentown over the past couple of years, she came across many St. Luke\u2019s employees, all of whom spoke so highly of the Network that she became convinced that St. Luke\u2019s must be a very special place indeed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She said she felt like she hit the jackpot when she received her job offer. \u201cI immediately called my best friend to tell her because I was so excited!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">St. Luke\u2019s is \u2013 and will remain \u2013 locally owned and managed for the benefit of our community.
