Most cases are diagnosed in people over age <strong>50<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Unlike most cancers, colorectal cancer is highly preventable with With early detection, it\u2019s highly treatable. Localized colorectal cancer (the earliest stage) has a <strong>91% <\/strong>five-year survival rate with treatment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The most common symptom of colorectal cancer is <strong>no symptom<\/strong>. Screening is the <strong> 1 <\/strong>way to prevent colorectal cancer. Still, a third of eligible adults is not getting screened. In late 2020, the CDC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/pcd\/issues\/2020\/20_0039.htm\">estimated<\/a> that 68% of colorectal cancer deaths could be prevented if all eligible people were screened. Members of the public can get a free screening recommendation based on personal risk factors at <a href=\"http:\/\/quiz.getscreened.org\/\">quiz.getscreened.org<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>People who have a first-degree relative (parent, sibling, offspring) with colorectal cancer have <strong>two to four <\/strong>times the risk of developing the disease.
