New Hope, PA \u2013 May 6, 2024<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0The New Hope Arts Center is thrilled to announce its\u00a0upcoming Juried Fiber Exhibition, curated by the esteemed fiber artist Rita Gekht, titled\u00a0“Structures and Constructions in Fiber.”<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0This exciting exhibition aims to challenge traditional fiber techniques with construction while exploring and highlighting structures as a visual subject matter.\u00a0Fiber artists throughout the Tri-State region are invited to submit their innovative\u00a0<\/strong>works for consideration by May 13, 2024<\/strong>. The\u00a0Structures and Construction in Fiber<\/em>\u00a0exhibition\u00a0will be featured in the New Hope Arts Center’s main gallery within the recently renovated 200-year-old converted mill in New Hope, PA, a major international arts destination known for its rich cultural history.<\/p>\n

The Structures and Constructions in Fiber\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>exhibition, running from\u00a0June 29 to August 18, 2024<\/strong>, offers a unique platform for artists to showcase their creativity in two and three dimensions, fiber installations and mixed media, challenge themselves and push the boundaries of their art. At least 50% of the materials used will be fiber-based.<\/p>\n

“We’re excited to see how artists interpret the theme of ‘Structures and Constructions in Fiber. ‘This is a fantastic opportunity for fiber artists to push their boundaries and present their unique\u00a0perspectives on this intriguing subject,”\u00a0said Rita Gekht, the exhibition’s curator.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Interested artists can submit their entries by May 13, 2024<\/strong>. Each application requires a non-refundable fee of $40, or $30 for NH Arts Members, payable online via PayPal or by check made\u00a0out to “New Hope Arts.” Artists may submit up to three (3) pieces for consideration, accompanied by an entry form, JPEG images, resume, and artist statement. Submissions can be\u00a0emailed to\u00a0newhopeartsorg@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0or sent by mail to 2 Stockton Ave, New Hope, PA 18938 (with images emailed separately).<\/p>\n

The curator, Rita Gekht, will serve as the juror and review all submissions in a blind jury process.\u00a0Works will be judged based on artistic excellence and aesthetic vision, and selected artists will be notified by email.<\/p>\n

The “Structures and Constructions in Fiber” exhibition is made possible partly by funding from\u00a0Visit Bucks County’s Tourism Grant Program and support from individual sponsors Roger Thomas, Ricki Fisher, and Larry Keller.<\/p>\n
