Youth Voices on Mental Health<\/em>,\u201d features a mosaic of observations and opinions from middle school and high school students.\u00a0 To find contributors, KidsPeace partnered with<em>\u00a0Aevidum<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Bring Change 2 Mind<\/em>, organizations which work to create student-led awareness initiatives to break down the stigma and silence about mental health among children and young people.<\/p>\n<p>Articles in the special section include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Q&amp;A-type dialogue on students\u2019 experiences with mental health issues and what they think needs to be done to address them appropriately<\/li>\n<li>Perspectives from young adults affiliated with the\u00a0<em>\u201cBring Change 2 Mind<\/em>\u201d organization, on managing their mental health and education journeys in the post-pandemic era<\/li>\n<li>Views about managing good mental health from middle-school students \u2013 highlighted by their wise-beyond-their-years insights about healthy activities outside the classroom<\/li>\n<li>Information about an awareness project spearheaded by a local United Way agency and based on the concerns expressed by youth through the\u00a0<em>Aevidum<\/em>\u00a0organization.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The latest issue also includes insights about preventing school shootings from Peter Langman, an internationally recognized expert on the subject.\u00a0 Dr. Langman will be the featured presenter at KidsPeace\u2019s 26<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Annual Conference,\u00a0<em>\u201cKeeping Our Kids Safe: Addressing Gun Violence on a Systems and Individual Level,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0to be held on the organization\u2019s Orchard Hills Campus on October 9, 2024 (for information about the conference, check out\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kidspeace.org\/NATIONAL-conference\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.kidspeace.org\/NATIONAL-conference\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1717717781766000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2iNK4jYnZuh9cntUJUy1b-\">the National Conference page on kidspeace.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>The Spring\/Summer edition also offers perspectives on the mental health support under-represented communities need, and on the ways to define \u201csuccess\u201d in residential treatment programs.<\/p>\n<p>Twice a year,\u00a0<em>Healing Magazine<\/em>\u00a0delivers thought-provoking information and perspectives that address issues of importance to children\u2019s professionals, therapists, educators, parents, and others who have an interest in seeing kids grow, thrive and succeed in life.\u00a0 The Spring\/Summer edition and its articles are available now at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.healingmagazine.org\/\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.healingmagazine.org&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1717717781766000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1ax1urQYi2MxwlSn_MpjbO\">www.healingmagazine.org<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 where readers also can subscribe to the print version of the magazine for free.<\/p>\n<p><em>Since 1882, KidsPeace has been building on its expertise to give hope, help and healing to children, adults and those who love them.
