Both members of the Actors&#8217; Equity Union, Wereley\u2019s regional credits include roles at Signature Theatre, Folger Theatre, Kennedy Center, and most recently Audrey in\u00a0<em>Little Shop of Horrors<\/em>\u00a0at Ford&#8217;s Theatre in Washington, D.C., and Yitzhak in\u00a0<em>Hedwig and the Angry Inch<\/em>\u00a0at Olney Theatre Center. Lurye\u2019s recent roles include Fabrizio in\u00a0<em>The Light in the Piazza<\/em>\u00a0at Houston\u2019s Opera in the Heights, Adolfo Pirelli in<em>\u00a0Sweeney Todd<\/em>\u00a0at Theatre Under the Stars, and Max in\u00a0<em>A Comedy of Tenors<\/em>\u00a0at Bristol Riverside Theatre. He has also appeared at the Signature Theatre, Ford Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, and Toby\u2019s Dinner Theatre, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Both Wereley and Lurye have previously worked with the director of the production\u00a0<strong>Jason King Jones<\/strong>, PSF\u2019s Artistic Director, who directed last season&#8217;s critically acclaimed production of\u00a0<em>The Tempest<\/em>, following his tenure as senior associate artistic director at Maryland\u2019s Olney Theatre Center, where he was also artistic director of the National Players, the country\u2019s longest-running touring theater company.<\/p>\n<p>The Music Director of the production,\u00a0<strong>Samuel\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Thorne Baga<\/strong><strong>l\u00e1,\u00a0<\/strong>joins the creative team of\u00a0<em>The Last Five Years<\/em>\u00a0coming directly from a run of the production with Fulton Theatre in Lancaster.\u00a0Bagal\u00e1 bring his directorial expertise from projects in New York including\u00a0<em>Days of Wine &amp; Roses<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Hamilton<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Radio City Christmas Spectacular<\/em>,\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Charlie &amp; The Chocolate Factory<\/em>.\u00a0Bagal\u00e1\u00a0will also conduct the show\u2019s 5-piece orchestra which uniquely plays directly on the stage to enhance the musical experience.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Last Five Years\u00a0<\/em>will feature sound by\u00a0<strong>David M. Greenberg<\/strong>, lighting by\u00a0<strong>Matthew F.<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Lewandowski II<\/strong>, choreography by\u00a0<strong>Devon Sinclair<\/strong>, scenic design by\u00a0<strong>Charlie Calvert<\/strong>, and costume design by\u00a0<strong>Jeannette Christensen<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>Eli Lynn<\/strong>\u00a0is the intimacy director. The Stage Manager is\u00a0<strong>Melissa Katherine Collins<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Last Five Years<\/em>, first staged in Chicago in 2001 and then produced in 2002 Off-Broadway in a production starring Norbert Leo Butz and Sherie Rene Scott, has become a staple of regional theaters not only in the United States, but across the globe. The 90-minute love story follows two aspiring artists in New York City who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. Jamie, a writer, has just fallen in love. Cathy, an aspiring actress, is mourning the end of their relationship five years in the future. Jamie\u2019s arc is in chronological order, but Cathy\u2019s moves in reverse. They meet in the middle when they decide to marry. The entirely sung-through musical\u2019s emotional songs progress us through the love story.<\/p>\n<p>Written and composed by\u00a0<strong>Jason Robert Brown<\/strong>, who first entered the New York theatre scene in 1995 with\u00a0<em>Songs for a New World<\/em>\u00a0and is a Tony Award-winner for his musicals\u00a0<em>Parade<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Bridges of Madison County<\/em>, may just be \u201cthe best musical-theatre composer alive at this moment,\u201d shares Jones. LEWANDOWSKI II\u00a0<\/strong>(Director of Production; Lighting Designer) Touring has taken Mr. Lewandowski throughout the Americas, the Far East, and Europe serving in various capacities for tours such as\u00a0<em>Cats<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Crazy for You<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Disney on Ice<\/em>\u00a0and as Director of Production, Lighting Designer, and Director for the New York City based, international dance company, Shen Wei Dance Arts. Design credits include work at Harlem\u2019s Apollo Theater with the New York Hip-Hop Theater Fest, New Year\u2019s Eve at the Hammerstein Ballroom with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, various works with Dance CT\/Hartford Ballet, and The University of Hartford as well as Shen Wei\u2019s\u00a0<em>Collective Measures<\/em>, premiering at The American Dance Festival. Additional management credits include Music@Menlo based in the CA Bay Area, the New York Music Theatre Festival, American Repertory Ballet, North Carolina Theatre, Philadelphia Theatre Company, The Performance Garage and the TONY Award winning, Crossroads Theatre Company. Mr. Lewandowski is a graduate of the Connecticut\u2019s Hartt School of Music with a degree in Music Direction and Conducting and a proud native son of Philadelphia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ELI LYNN\u00a0<\/strong>(Intimacy Director) (they\/them) is an actor, Intimacy Director, and Barrymore-nominated fight director. The Penn State alum works across the Greater Philadelphia region as a Director\/Choreographer, Actor, Teaching Artist, and Professor at Temple University. As a creative and artist, Devon seizes opportunities to create exuberant and engaging productions that remind us of the limitless possibilities of storytelling. Most recently, Devon won the 2023 Barrymore Award for Outstanding Choreography in a Musical.
