Adventure Allentown<\/em>, the city of Allentown\u2019s 36 page guide to spring and summer leisure activities is available at more than 50 locations in the city and placed in free outdoor publication racks throughout the park system. City subscribers to The Morning Call newspaper received a copy of Adventure Allentown<\/em> in their edition on Friday, March 25<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Adventure Allentown<\/em> guide is a tremendous resource for city residents and our thousands of visitors,\u201d said Director of Parks and Recreation Lindsay Taylor.\u00a0 \u201cI encourage all families to come out and enjoy the fine breadth of recreational opportunities in our beautiful park system during the busy spring and summer season.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Adventure Allentown<\/em> guide contains information on special events, youth and adult programs; city parks and golf; music and theater; the library and museums; healthy living and other useful material for city park and recreation services.\u00a0 The guide also includes a list of park amenities, recent and upcoming park improvements, event schedules and a comprehensive list of community agencies dedicated to youth, adults and senior citizens.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdventure Allentown<\/em> informs residents and visitors about our programs that emphasize our commitment to fitness, healthy lifestyles, the arts, and economic vitality,\u201d said Mayor Ed Pawlowski.\u00a0 \u201cIt offers details on events that capitalize on Allentown\u2019s greatest assets.\u00a0 I am especially proud to see Adventure Allentown <\/em>consistently garner awards dating back to our initial publication in 2009.\u201d<\/p>\n

Adventure Allentown<\/em> captured APEX awards in 2009, 2013, 2014 and 2015.\u00a0 The 2009 award was for a PR, Public Information & Public Service Campaign.\u00a0 The 2013 award was for Publication Excellence in the Magazines & Journals Print category and the 2014 & 2015 awards were for Publication Excellence in the Magazine, Journal & Tabloid Design Layout category. Adventure Allentown<\/em> was also honored with the 2009 Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society – Agency Publication and Promotion Award.<\/p>\n

Design work for the 80,000 copy publication is completed in collaboration between city staff and Publication Design, Inc. of Zionsville, PA.<\/p>\n
