We will continue monitoring the weather for the rest of the week.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Pools<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Monday 7\/8 and Tuesday 7\/9: City pools will be open from 12-7pm to\u00a0<strong>residents and season pass holders only<\/strong>\u00a0as capacity allows,\u00a0<u>at no cost<\/u>. There is no cost to use the spray parks.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Bucky Boyle Park<\/em>\u00a010 Pump Pl<\/p>\n<p><em>Old Fairgrounds<\/em>\u00a05<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0St between Gordon &amp; Liberty St<\/p>\n<p><em>Valania Park<\/em>\u00a0531 Union St<\/p>\n<p><em>*A reminder that City ordinance prohibits people from swimming or bathing in creeks or waterways within City parks, which presents both maintenance and safety concerns.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Water Curtains<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Monday 7\/8 and Tuesday 7\/9: Cooling stations operated by the Allentown Fire Department will be available from 11-3pm.<\/p>\n<p><em>Roosevelt Park<\/em>\u00a0271 Camp St<\/p>\n<p><em>Jordan Park<\/em>\u00a01001 N 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0St<\/p>\n<p><em>Union Terrace<\/em>\u00a0Soccer Fields across from UT Elementary<\/p>\n<p>Extreme heat can be dangerous for everyone, especially young children and older adults. Heat-related illnesses can cause significant injury and possibly death. Stay hydrated, stay indoors with air-conditioning if possible, and check on relatives and neighbors to ensure they are staying cool. Also, take extra care of pets during this heatwave. If someone is overcome by heat, move them to a cool, shaded spot.
