In honor of National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day, the Northampton County Drug and Alcohol Division will hold a Narcan distribution drive-thru and prescription drug\u00a0take back\u00a0event\u00a0on Wednesday, August 21, from 4:30pm-6:30pm, in the parking lot across the street from the Northampton County Courthouse at 638 Washington Street Easton, PA 18042.<\/p>\n
“Our efforts are working in Northampton County. Since the beginning of the Fake is Real campaign in 2023, the County’s Drug and Alcohol Division\u00a0has distributed 4,629 Narcan kits to the public,” says Executive Lamont G. McClure. “We will continue to strengthen our response to the ongoing epidemic and offer services to treat addiction.”<\/p>\n
This event will be the fourth Narcan distribution event and second drug take back event since the launch of the County’s Fake is Real Campaign.\u00a0For those\u00a0interested in bringing expired medications, the\u00a0Drug and Alcohol Division\u00a0asks that they be bagged and\u00a0placed in the trunk of your car for easy access.<\/p>\n
The Narcan\u00a0is\u00a0provided\u00a0at no cost through\u00a0the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The Fake is Real campaign is funded from proceeds the County secured from litigation against opioid manufacturers.<\/p>\n
