Contract Out for Actor Danny Roebuck to Portray Josiah’s Father in Upcoming Film<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n[August 15, 2024, BETHLEHEM, PA] \u2013 Josiah James<\/strong>, an award-winning local film director and comedian, has advanced to the next round of the Lehigh Valley Funniest Comedian Competition at the Emmaus Theatre in Pennsylvania. The competition, which showcases the best comedic talent in the region, began with 75 vying for the top spot, competing nearly every Thursday evening this summer. Now, 35 of those competitors will continue to the next round beginning August 15, 2024, at 7:30 p.m., with Josiah sharing his raw comedic talent during the August 29, 2024, heat. The competition is judged by audience participation and official judge scoring as this mash-up of comedians compete for the title of \u201cLehigh Valley’s Funniest!\u201d<\/p>\n

Upcoming Projects<\/strong><\/p>\n

Josiah James is excited to announce that his latest film project, \u201cCamp Triple Moon,\u201d has been greenlit. The film, which may star Danny Roebuck as Josiah\u2019s father, will be shot during the first three weeks of May at a 40-acre camp in West Virginia. The character overview for the role of Josiah\u2019s father is currently being developed, and more details will be shared soon.<\/p>\n

About Josiah James<\/strong><\/p>\n

Josiah James, a software engineer in the advertising industry, began to explore his creative talents after receiving a video camera that his father had won in a sales contest. He started creating short videos each year as a family Christmas gift and now owns a production company, Cup of Jo, LLC. His notable short films include \u201cBlind Date,\u201d \u201cA Rare Dinner,\u201d and \u201cBeyond the Fence.\u201d<\/p>\n

James earned his first Best Director accolade for \u201cA Rare Dinner\u201d at the 2023 Allentown Film Festival. The film, created in collaboration with actor\/screenwriter Tom Finnegan and renowned White House press photographer Eric Courtney, was filmed in Washington, DC. It celebrates a couple\u2019s engagement at dinner with parents and showcases James\u2019 comedic side filled with wordplay, innuendos, and interpretation folly.<\/p>\n
