Allentown, PA —Beginning Monday, August 26, Carbon Transit will reintroduce service to Whitehall in Lehigh County, as well as improvements in Carbon County. The new services were announced by AJ Jordan, Director of Planning and Scheduling at LANTA, which oversees Carbon Transit operations.<\/p>\n
In addition to two weekly trips to Whitehall, CT Buses will also add service to Slatington, including Slatington Market and Expo Center, and Walnutport which also offers connections to LANtaBus 325 into the Lehigh Valley. Also, on the heels of last year\u2019s successful Beach Bus pilot project to Mauch Chunk Lake Park, Carbon Transit now serves the Lake with all three fixed routes.<\/p>\n
ALL CT Bus Routes\u00a0<\/strong>will operate on a new alignment from Carbon Depot in Nesquehoning through Lansford, Summit Hill, Mauch Chunk Lake, Jim Thorpe, and Lehighton.\u00a0 Full timetables and maps\u00a0are available Complete information is available at 888-253-8333 (option 4), and\u00a0www.carbontransit.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n Redesigned CT Bus 701\u00a0<\/strong>will operate Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between Carbon Depot and Carbon Plaza \u2013 Lehighton.<\/p>\n New CT Bus 702<\/strong>\u00a0will operate Mondays and Fridays between Carbon Depot and Airport Shopping Center near Allentown. New stops will be available in:\u00a0<\/strong>West End Palmerton, Slatington (Blue Mountain Loop trailhead, Market & EXPO Center, D&L Trailhead), Walnutport Shopping Center, Whitehall Shopping Centers: MacArthur Towne Centre, Whitehall Shopping Center, Whitehall Central (Walmart), Whitehall Square, Grape Street (Whitehall Mall, Lehigh Valley Mall), and Airport Road Shopping Center (Target).<\/p>\n To connect to LANtaBus services in the Lehigh Valley, Jordan recommends downloading the\u00a0Transit App<\/em>\u00a0and purchasing a LANTA pass.
