(August 26, 2024)<\/strong>\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicbethlehem.org\/\">Historic Bethlehem Museums &amp; Sites<\/a> (HBMS) has the perfect weekend planned for apple lovers to celebrate the beginning of the fall season. Burnside Plantation, Bethlehem&#8217;s &#8220;farm in the city,&#8221; comes to life on Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15, with family fun, tasty treats and a new &#8220;Historic Area&#8221; featuring living history activities and demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no better way to embrace the change of seasons than joining all the fun of Apple Days, featuring exciting activities the whole family can enjoy,\u201d said Beth Beatty, special events manager. \u201cIn between tastings of sweet treats from some of the Lehigh Valley\u2019s finest bakeries, visitors can tour the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicbethlehem.org\/visit-us\/museums-sites\/burnside-plantation\/\">1748\/1818 farmhouse<\/a> and learn about the daily lives of a busy family from hundreds of years ago. Head over to the summer kitchen to see what\u2019s cooking, and stop by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bankobeverage.com\/\">Banko Beverage<\/a> Apple Days Tavern, featuring a curated selection of seasonal craft beverages. Enjoy samples with your tasting ticket, or purchase full-size pours of your favorite beverages!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s harvest season in the kitchen garden, and the Burnside Gardeners will be on hand to explain crop rotation and how they care for the garden as the end of the growing season approaches.<\/p>\n<p>The garden is prolific thanks to the nearby Penn State Master Gardeners Pollinator Garden, which is still blooming with late-summer color.<\/p>\n<p>Kids can participate in multiple hands-on activities, including a children\u2019s hay bale maze, pony rides, visiting farm animals and many more.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to activities and demonstrations, the festival\u2019s Market To Go is a great way to take the taste of the festival home. Pre-order apple-inspired goods and pick up your tasty treats at Bethlehem\u2019s Burnside Farm on Friday, Sept. 13, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday or Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Available for ordering now, the presale includes pies, ice cream, strudels, tarts and more. Ordering is available via HBMS\u2019s online store, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.historicbethlehem.org\/shop\/\">www.historicbethlehem.org\/shop\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees can also shop at the local vendors for this event.
