ALLENTOWN, PA, SEPTEMBER 3, 2024 – On September 1st, the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley (PCFLV) launched its annual “30 Days, 30 Stories\u00ae” campaign, marking twelve years of raising awareness for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. This campaign introduces the Lehigh Valley community to local children affected by cancer, sharing their personal stories and photos across social media and the PCFLV website every day in September.<\/p>\n
The series highlights children at different stages of their cancer journeys\u2014some newly diagnosed, others undergoing treatment, some celebrating survivorship, and sadly, some who have lost their battles. Each story is a powerful testament to the resilience and courage of these children and their families.<\/p>\n
What began as a simple awareness initiative has evolved into a significant fundraiser, with readers now able to honor or remember the featured child by making a donation to support PCFLV\u2019s vital services and programs. “When we first started this campaign, we never anticipated it would grow to this scale,” said Michelle Zenie Rounds, Executive Director of PCFLV. “We\u2019ve seen our stories shared thousands of times, with even more shares beyond that. The visibility this campaign brings to the challenging journeys our kids and their families face, as well as to PCFLV\u2019s mission, is truly remarkable.”<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s campaign photos were captured by Colin Coleman of Moon Honey Photography. The campaign is also being supported by Miller-Keystone Blood Center, which will feature each day\u2019s story on their website, further expanding the reach of these impactful narratives.<\/p>\n
