Paying homage to the historical significance and impact of Bethlehem Steel.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Bethlehem, Lehigh Valley, PA., September 16, 2024 \u2013\u00a0ArtsQuest<\/a>\u00a0and the Steel Weekend Arts Sub-Committee has selected\u00a0Vaughn Randall<\/a>\u00a0for the 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0Annual Sculpture at SteelStacks exhibition. Randall\u2019s sculpture will be installed on Thursday,\u00a0September 19 at 5:30 p.m. at the Visitor\u2019s Center at SteelStacks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI seek to convey a sense of wonderment and trepidation through my work,\u201d Randall explains on his online portfolio. \u201cMy sculptures serve as a conduit for expressing the awe and apprehension that accompany the uncontainable growth of our technological endeavors.\u201d<\/p>\n

Steel Weekend<\/a>\u00a0is an exploration of all things steel that is taking place Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22 this year. The Women in Steel exhibition will be in the Alvin H. Butz Gallery in the ArtsQuest Center from September 20 through January 31. This exhibition investigates how four artists use steel to influence the creation of various artworks. These four artists have created a diverse range of works interpreting the use of steel in many different ways.<\/p>\n

\u201cArtsQuest is thrilled to present the 3rd<\/sup>\u00a0Annual Sculpture at SteelStacks exhibition in conjunction with Steel Weekend. This program is an opportunity to showcase more public works of art in Bethlehem, which fosters engagement with the millions of visitors to the SteelStacks campus each year,\u201d comments Sr. Director of Visual Arts and Education, Lisa Harms. \u201cDozens of artists from across the globe have submitted work for consideration for this annual event. We are honored to display this year\u2019s selected sculpture,\u00a0Locus,\u00a0<\/em>by renowned artist and professor of sculpture, Vaughn Randall. We are grateful to all of the community partners, stakeholders and artists who served on the selection committee for this year\u2019s exhibition.\u201d<\/p>\n
