The nonprofit\u2019s latest exhibition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicbethlehem.org\/visit-us\/experience\/checking-in-bethlehems-alluring-accommodations\/\">\u201cChecking In?<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicbethlehem.org\/visit-us\/experience\/checking-in-bethlehems-alluring-accommodations\/\">Bethlehem\u2019s Alluring Accommodations<\/a>,\u201d runs until January 26, 2025. Supported by presenting sponsor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hotelbethlehem.com\/\">Historic Hotel Bethlehem<\/a>, this captivating multisite experience invites visitors on a journey through time, showcasing the city\u2019s most iconic lodgings. Taking visitors from the <a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/\">World<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/\">Heritage Sit<\/a>e <a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicbethlehem.org\/visit-us\/museums-sites\/moravian-museum-of-bethlehem\/\">Moravian Museum of Bethlehem<\/a> to the elegant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicbethlehem.org\/visit-us\/museums-sites\/kemerer-museum-of-decorative-arts\/\">Kemerer Museum of Decorative<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.historicbethlehem.org\/visit-us\/museums-sites\/kemerer-museum-of-decorative-arts\/\">Arts<\/a> and storied <a href=\"https:\/\/suninnbethlehem.org\/\">Sun Inn<\/a>, the exhibition offers a fascinating glimpse into how Bethlehem&#8217;s renowned hospitality has welcomed some of history&#8217;s most notable figures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur latest exhibition celebrates Bethlehem\u2019s rich history and the warm hospitality of its iconic establishments over the centuries. As we embrace the beauty of the fall season, we invite everyone to explore how our community\u2019s spirit of hospitality has shaped and enriched our local culture,\u201d said HBMS President and CEO LoriAnn Wukisch. \u201c\u2018Checking In\u2019 also provides visitors with a unique opportunity to experience the Moravian Church Settlements\u2014Bethlehem, now recognized as Pennsylvania&#8217;s third cultural World Heritage Site.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition\u2019s featured landmarks include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2012 Moravian Museum of Bethlehem: Guests will \u201ccheck-in\u201d at the Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, where they\u2019ll be transported back nearly 300 years to the fictional Moravian Inn. Moving to the guestrooms, visitors will learn about the different types of visitors to Bethlehem and how they were welcomed based on their religious background.<\/p>\n<p>\u2012 Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts: The journey continues at the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, where guests will be transported to Bethlehem circa 1870, when the Eagle Hotel was in its prime. Here, guests will learn how hotels created a sense of grandeur and explore late-nineteenth-century style, accessories, and culture. Guests will be astounded to learn that during Prohibition, poker games and gangsters were a common sight in many Bethlehem hotel rooms. Finally, guests will visit The Blind Tiger, the Kemerer\u2019s very own speakeasy. Guests must remember the secret password, \u201cAnnie,\u201d to enter the speakeasy.<\/p>\n<p>\u2012 Sun Inn: The Sun Inn played a crucial role in shaping Bethlehem and the United States. Its welcoming of esteemed guests such as George Washington, John Adams, and the Marquis de Lafayette highlights its significance in American history.
