LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (Nov. 15, 2024) \u2014\u00a0<\/strong>Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)\u2013Pocono and LVH\u2013Hecktown Oaks are receiving top marks for protecting patients from preventable errors and harm in the hospital. Both hospitals earned an \u201cA\u201d safety grade from The Leapfrog Group for fall 2024.<\/p>\n

The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization that evaluates hospitals based on 30 evidence-based patient safety measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections. Hospitals are also graded on the systems they have in place to prevent harm. The grading system is peer-reviewed.<\/p>\n

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital rating system focused solely on evaluating preventable harm. Hospitals assessed receive\u00a0an \u201cA,\u201d \u201cB,\u201d \u201cC,\u201d \u201cD\u201d or \u201cF\u201d grade. Grades are updated twice annually, once in the spring and again in the fall.<\/p>\n
