SCHNECKSVILLE, PA (November 19, 2024)<\/strong>\u00a0– KidsPeace has announced that\u00a0Alisa R. Gutman, M.D., Ph.D.,<\/strong>\u00a0has joined the organization\u2019s National Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

Dr. Gutman currently serves as Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where she previously was a psychiatry resident and forensic psychiatry fellow.\u00a0 Dr. Gutman is also the section chief and attending psychiatrist at the mental health clinic at the Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

In addition, Dr. Gutman is the founder and medical director at the Philadelphia Human Rights Clinic.\u00a0She has been an invited lecturer throughout the United States on refugee mental health, and
\nhas authored and contributed to a wide variety of publications in the psychiatry field.<\/p>\n

She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the American Psychiatric Association (APA), Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry (GAP) and the Pennsylvania Psychiatric Society.<\/p>\n

\u201cKidsPeace is very fortunate to add a distinguished practitioner and research scholar like Dr. Gutman to its National Board of Directors,\u201d said Michael Slack, president and CEO of KidsPeace.\u00a0 \u201cHer experience will provide the board with valuable perspectives as we work to meet our responsibility as an industry leader and preferred provider for children\u2019s mental health services.\u201d<\/p>\n

I look forward to working with my colleagues on the board to ensure that KidsPeace continues to offer and deliver high-quality evidence-based care in all of its programs.”<\/p>\n

Dr. Gutman earned her medical degree and Ph.D. from Emory University\u2019s School of Medicine in Atlanta, and holds a bachelor\u2019s degree from Penn State University.<\/p>\n
