In 2024, Allentown recorded just 4 homicides, a dramatic reduction from 17 in 2023 and the lowest count since 1989. The Allentown Police Department has leveraged Flock Safety LPR cameras, which send real-time alerts when a stolen vehicle or known suspect is detected in state or national crime databases. Additionally, the city implemented the Flock Safety Raven audio detection system, which identifies gunshots and alerts law enforcement, capturing audio evidence to aid investigations.
